The feeling of inadequacy can be one of the most consuming feelings one can have
How many of us are stuck in course we don’t really like and doing jobs we don’t really enjoy and worst of all in relationships we don’t really care for.
Most of us fall a prey to this incredible syndrome. I call it the GOAT syndrome.
We follow one another like goats no individual purpose or quest. Just following the person in front of us. For fear of being an outcast, fear of rejection, fear of failure and a multitude of FEARS!!
How can the world filled with unique able minded individuals like you and I are afflicted with such a disease. I know it is a harsh word but I call a malady preventing me form ably using my mind a DISEASE.
A huge quicksand of compromise sucks out our every aspiration and desire and replaces it with a template.
It feels like my course was a pre-determined template, so is my current job.
I shudder when I think my life partner is going to be a template as well!!!
As I lead my stereotypical life burdened with choices that are not mine to make just like my life which is not mine to live.
It probably belongs to my parents or peers. I am leading someone else’s life and dreams.
Mine were cruelly smothered a long time ago.
The only allusion of them is at night in my dreams.

Plain Jane and Average Joe
Today’s world is a strange confluence of media and people..... It is so incredibly hard to differentiate between the two...
Are the people inspired by the media or is it the other way around. There is a huge sense of confusion in this warped sense of reality which the media is decidedly portraying.
I can wholly understand that media is a business and like any business it is the moolah that matters in the end. Sex and Drama seem to be the choice of subject always.
It seems that there is a whole section of us the media has decided to ignore.
Plain Jane and Average Joe!!
I am admittedly a Plain Jane... ordinary if you may in looks and I belong to a very modest middle class family. Plain as plain can be .No frills and definitely (to all my misery) no fancies.
I nod in disdain as I watch my mother tune into some K-series night after night eagerly waiting to see what happen to some rich-spoilt bahu from some rich family.
Oh wait.... Don get me started on the fake plain Jane stories....Let me explain
It feels like the media is constantly badgering me with images.
When I was five I was told that Cinderella needed a makeover just to be accepted as the princess she already was.
When I was a teenager “Fair and Lovely” and “Ponds” did not feel my complexion was good enough.
And closer home “Jassi” HAD to get a makeover to win her love.
We just seem to disappear into nothingness as if we never existed. No movie has ever been made about the multitudes of Plain Jane's and Average Joe's!!
It is a need for the media to have some reality seep in.... We need some REAL stories about REAL people.
Singing off with a thirst for some real-ness
